Good spatial awareness can create new ways of thinking and affect the mood of the end user, enhancing their sense of well being and ability to learn. Sympathetic design matched to the specific needs of different environments where colour, lighting, sound, texture and objects are employed to inform, inspire interest and respect for the space.

Social spaces

Social Spaces

Students benefit academically from social interaction with their peers. A brightly lit atrium, learning café or open-plan social area will encourage individual learning as well as instil a desire to continue activities beyond timetable classes. Entrance spaces now include open-access IT areas with refreshments and informal seating. For example, Internet’ breakfast bars’ motivate learning through dialogue, problem solving and sharing information in a collaborative environment.
