Detailed Application

During RIBA Work Stage D the Outline Proposals are developed to a greater level of detail. All external materials will be selected and coloured architectural drawings and 3D visualisations will clearly illustrate how the building will look within the context of the existing environment.

The design of the interior elements of the building will also be developed. Furniture layouts will be produced to test the functionality of the plans and areas such as circulation cores and toilets, shown as blocks at Stage C, will be planned out.

Other design consultants will develop the design under the leadership of the architect to ensure that the correct area is allowed for the structure and building services. Thermal and Daylight Modelling may also be carried out during this stage to ensure the building adheres to Design Performance Targets set during Stage C.

A Full Planning Application will be the final task carried out during this stage. This will be supported by a number of studies and statements the extent of which should be agreed with the LPA.
